Field & Fork Restaurant 9, North Pallant, Chichester, PO19 1TJ

Thursday, 15th October, 2009 18:45
Sam Mahoney and his wife Janet have made a considerable impression in the locality with their simple bistro off Baffins Lane and more substantial but yet still informal restaurant within the Pallant House Gallery.
Sam and Janet have worked for Albert Roux at Le Gavroche alongside Gordon Ramsey and, Marcus Warering. Sam has also worked with Gary Rhodes and in his spare time(!) he is the private Chef for Bryan Adams and Elle McPherson. He has agreed to close his restaurant exclusively for us and has designed the attached Autumn menu. He will be personally cooking for us. For more about Field and Fork, please click here.
In addition we are privileged to be allowed private access, with a guide, to view the Fleming Scottish Colourists Exhibition within the gallery prior to the meal. Comprised of four artists, Samuel John Peploe, Francis Campbell Boileau Cadell, George Leslie Hunter, and John Duncan Fergusson, the Scottish Colourists were among the most forward-thinking British artists of the twentieth century, combining a knowledge of contemporary French art with the painterly traditions of Scotland. Widely recognised as the finest collection of Scottish art in private hands, this is the first showing of the Fleming Collection in the south of England.
